Bandh…
The elderly clerk raised his head from the news paper… tomorrow is Bandh !
Me : Means we dont have to come to office tomorrow ??
A : What is the Bandh for ?
B : To oppose against the rising costs
A : WHAT !!!! Not for any Mandir or any religious Land issue ??????????
Me : Means we dont have to come to office tomorrow ?? I can go with my son to his skating rink !!
B : Yes.. no petty Mandir Issue.. No hindu muslim no insult of any saint, no insult of any religion, its just to oppose against rising costs
Me : Means we dont have to come to office tomorrow ?? Rite… !
A : Who is calling this bandh… ?
Clerk : Congress… !!
Me : Arre bhai… can you guys see me… is tomorrow a holiday ??? in office or do we have to come ???
A : How can congress call it… they are the ruling party… !!
B : They are ruling party in centre not in this state… in MP BJP is ruling party
Me : Answer my question… Is tomorrow a holiday ??
A : Is this Bandh nation wide ??
B : Dont know…
Clerk : Well Congress calling a Bandh wont be effective.. this is a BJP state… !! rite…
Me : What… why cant it be effective… this is a common issue
Clerk : Its a common issue… not a religious issue you idiot…
Me : I ll call and say they are not allowing me to come to office…. there must be a bandh… the best thing is after the morning bandh things open in the evening and I can go to a restaurant or a movie… Ice Age III is here…
B : He he he… boss also lives in the same area… !! he will know…
Me (crest fallen) : This bandh issue is totally ridiculous… !! If prices are increasing why should I close my office closed… infact I should be working harder so that I can earn more to face this crisis of rising costs… shouldnt I ??
A : Suddenly you are concerned about something other than the holiday… !!
Me : well since you all say its not going to be an effective Bandh… I might as well question it…
————-
All this happened yesterday evening…
Today morning I came to office unstopped, unscratched and unopposed… as I entered our export section…
Y : Arre… aaj to Bandh tha na… ????
Me : Bahot kaam hai… isliye aa gaya…
Y : haan.. haan… apne blog ke comments ko reply karna hai… Bahot kaam hai…
————-
It would have been so much fun staying at home and accompanying sonnie to his skating rink, watching Ice Age III in the after noon and then some nice dinner at a restaurant… Instead here I am on saturday working full day…

lol… no i m not with Bandh’s !! at all… I think Strike is grossly mis used in our country… and whats a strike that is not done but forced upon us… !!
patients ?? why do u want patients ??
LOL.. no chutti for poor Dhiren bhai.. oops sorry i forgot.. no bhai…
ya we just don’t seem to understand the meaning of bandh..
it means no work.. but as your colleague suggested.. commenting on blogs is not work.. so i guess u are actully participating and getting paid for it..
very wise… that first line… lol
getting paid… ?? well…. whatever… lol
You work on Saturdays? Where do you work?
Do, did you reply to all your blog comments?
I actually agree with you – why call a bandh (and not work) to oppose price rises?
I replied to all my blog commetns… !! I always do… and i have to work on Saturdays too… !! I work as a cotton trader… !!!
any bandh is justified as long as it is not forced… you want to show your protest you do… dont force others to join… simple…
/*Y : Arre… aaj to Bandh tha na… ????
Me : Bahot kaam hai… isliye aa gaya…
Y : haan.. haan… apne blog ke comments ko reply karna hai… Bahot kaam hai…*/

@ Anamika : Bandh !!
ROFL!!!!!! classic bhai!!!!!
you want bandhs, settle in Kerala
ROFL at “Replying to comments in blog” …..hahahaha
Yes dude I heard it the leftist’s doa lot of bandh’s !!!
The reason why Kasav and his men came to Mumbai and not Kolkatta is that they discovered that when they would reach Kolkatta it could be a bandh and there may be no people !!
looks like being first to comment on your blog will be very very difficult!
lol… you wanna bite the bug too ??
Namaste Bhai saab!
You back… Oh no… I hope you didnt read the last post… !!
Please dont join in this ginhauna mazaak !!!
No, I didn’t. I was bloghopping faster so read the latest on most blogs. Why? Now I have to read that.
New photo !!!!! aha… !!! kya baat hai… !!!!
Yahaan par bandh ka ahvaaan ho raha hai kya? When in school we wished for any oldie President to tapkao to get some holidays.
Go to Bengal or Kerala, the two states famous for all kind of bandhs. They even have Bandhs for Bandhs.
Bandh for Bandhs !!! lol… the leftist take the cake surely… !!
It is a tradition in France to protest against anything that they don’t like with the Government. They just form a mass group and march nearby the parliament, so that the politicos could take notice. And on their part, the politicos always do take notice and consider this as a feedback mechanism for their policies. You don’t need permission to do such strikes and yes, the normal work or commuting is not affected by such lightning strikes and no closure of offices either – That’s how a bandh should be done!! But yeah, no holidays
Destination Infinity
I am sure there are many better ways for a Bandh as you just mentioned… !!
But the lazy me is complaining the bandh’s in India are not yielding any holidays… !! lol
talk of selfish human beings… !!
Your colleague is brilliant or what :p I think everyone knows Hitchy’s important job…being first on all blogs
shhh… my boss might just hear it… !!
You are overly dedicated is all i can say. But yes, i do see where you are coming from. When I was in Bombay, there would be a strike called, to improve the local train services, which the DH n I used everyday to commute, but we would get to work using alternate means, because we had to. So even when its for our own benefit, we are not united.
Well i m sure there are better ways to show opposition than just by stopping our work and that too for a day… do you think that makes a difference anywhere ???
neways… my holiday plans were just dashed… !
When i school used to wish for bandh as my house was very far and my parents were scared to send us to the school.
Your office colleague knows u well and the hard work u do at the office
Bandh and holidays go hand in hand eh… !! yes those anamat andolans gave us a lot of holidays in school too…
You are the reason why the Bandhs are not happening properly!!
You are the one who came to the office! Remember?
Kya hoga iss desh ka!!
Point to ponder…. errr whatever…
Y : Arre… aaj to Bandh tha na… ????
Me : Bahot kaam hai… isliye aa gaya…
Y : haan.. haan… apne blog ke comments ko reply karna hai… Bahot kaam hai…
LOLZ!!!!!!!!! boss blog padtha hai kya?!
naheee… !! thankfully !!!!!
I posted a comment here last nite! It didn’t show….now if it’s not in moderation (why shud it anyway?), then there’s one other explanation….i posted it at some other blog..
Geeee…..
Anyhooo, I had my comment saved on word doc! (u have no clue what an international pc I have….safety measures must be taken)
Means we dont have to come to office tomorrow ?? multiplied by 5 times = crafty rolling on the floor!
That was funny!!!! But isn’t it bugging when ppl just don’t answer the questions that are more important in life….well in our life at least???
HW : Seriously me just wanted a break nothing more… i didnt care about the rising costs really…
well since you all say its not going to be an effective Bandh… I might as well question it…
Tee hee!!!! That’s the spirit hitchu!!! It you can’t beat them, then question them!!!!
But, replying to comments is serious business…sigh! Kab samjhenge yeh aam janta….
HW – it surely is.. I m so dedicated… I always reply to each and every comment…
psst… I m used to having the last word !!!
Truly, it is shameful the way ppl disregard a bandh…..nothing is efficient in India…not even a bandh!!
On a side note…ICE AGE III!!!!!! YAYIE!!!! Dawn of the dinosaurs!!!! I’m gonna watch it in 3-D!!!!
Its not yet come in Indore… amazingly
I hope it is worth the wait !!!!
———————————————————–
Now hitchu, can u imagine this comment might be sitting at some other poor blogger’s section, with my name…..i tried to see, but I can’t find it anywhere, and I can’t remember……
go to my comments section in wp dashboard.. you might find it… !!
maybe i shud go get some sleep….. wake me up in time for ur next post okies??
*crafty pulls quilt over her head, and hitchu is staring at the heap that’s snoring*
Sweet Dreams !!!!
Whose idea was it to have a bandh on a Saturday? How many offices work that day and how many schools are open?
I agree with you HW, we can’t call for a proper bandh also.
All my life, if a bandh day has not been declared a holiday, I have worked – school, college and office. I haven’t been stopped either. So, may be it is not really for us. You know… everyone want the hardworking class to work… bandh is for the not so handworking class. What say?
So, did you get a lot of you work (replying to comemnts) done?
Oh cant you see… I replied to each and everyone !!!!!!
the Bandh is for people like me… really !!
Y : haan.. haan… apne blog ke comments ko reply karna hai… Bahot kaam hai…
LOL!!!
Enough said!
‘Y : haan.. haan… apne blog ke comments ko reply karna hai… Bahot kaam hai…’ Seriously that is one big and important job
So your whole office knows what you actually do
I missed this post
being inactive over the weekend
You are so right.. Bandhs are called for any and no reason and best of all – do nothing towards their so called purpose! I don’t understand how a bandh helps in any way.. I wish our political parties realise that calling bandhs are no solution – for anything..
actually i think lazy employees like us have no complaints against these bandhs… we actually wait for them…
Ha. Ha Ha….!!!
Poor you
dont laugh at my folly…
hmmmm……bahut kaam hai!
no doubt boss keeps hovering
around u…..u work so sincerely!
sab ko pata hai…..
hehehe… u sound more like a school kid waiting for the bandh so that he can bunk classes!!
