a sick sunday….

Until office got over on Saturday everything was fine…. Got home… we all fed our fish and fed ourselves…. Pav Bhaji…. I stuffed myself with atleast 5-6 pairs of Pav !! 😀 My wife makes lovely Pav Bhaji ….

Then we all watched TV and I was waiting for the clock to tick over to 10… India to start its world cup campaign against Bangladesh !!! …..

Well after lunch, had a couple of mangoes… in original style… if you know what I mean.

then tucked the lil one to sleep… grand parents accompanying him…. he loves sleeping with them when they are here…. and doesnt need his mom and dad !!!

Then match started with me savouring Kaju Kattli’s… I always have 4 at a time…. had two helpings …. then orange squash… !! followed by Kurmure with a lemon squeezed in them…. then a couple of pieces of Bournville (the chocolate you have to earn to eat), a few Jim Jam biscuits in between hardly matter…

eventually all slept and I was fighting a lone battle at 12….

In the refrigerator was a coke… so out it came with a few ice cubes … then out came the peanuts… (bharuch ki Khari Sing) …. and two bowls of peanuts went down…. at around 12.30 the stomach was feeling a twinge… by 1 the spasms had started… the match ended at 1.30 India won !!! but the joy diappeared…. replaced by a pain in the stomach….

the whole night I kept throwing up… and also dropping down… !!!

the spasms being so furious at times I felt like pulling out my hair… finally the vigil came to relaxation at 7.30 in the morning and I finally managed to sleep…

From 7.30am  to 11.oo  am I  slept like a log,  finally when I woke up, I had a severe headache… and a really empty stomach… I didnt have nething left…

this is where the fun starts….

I love being sick at times, you become the boss… I mean I always try to be the boss but dont always manage to get my way …. however when you are sick… they all (family) become so much more sweeter… they keep asking you and pestering you and make you all the nice things for you… You get lemonade in place of milk… the moment you say you want something sweet and easy to swallow… they make “shira” (halwa)  for you the moment you say juice, Wife sets out on her honda and gets you the fruits and squeezes the life out of them and gives you juice… !!!! 😀

Even your bro… gives you the remote and allows you to watch what you want…. 😀

then you tell him to bring the laptop and he brings it near the sofa where you are sleeping, plugs it in, connects internet to the mobile and leaves it at your mercy… !!!  😀

Wifey who always stares at you using the internet on sunday’s doesnt for blogging actually comes and asks if there is something really funny to read… !!!!! 😀

The food is served at the sofa… you need not get up… !!!!!! 😀

the moment you say your mouth has a bitter taste… they get you chocolates or pepper mints !!

aaah… falling sick has its own set of unique advantages… doesnt it ????

  9. Solilo says:

I make yum Pav-bhaji too (I have to praise myself here as no one knows my Pav-bhaji skills ) 😀 but the thing is that my husband is very health conscious so I am the one who wipes off the vessel. 😆

Poor you Hitchy! Hope you are feeling alright. At times being sick is fun when you are pampered so enjoy. 🙂

  10. Saima says:

Oh yes!! When my sister was un-well, she had all of us in full attention. We wouldn’t let her get up from the bed, and all her wishes were fulfilled. Now that she is healthy again *touchwood*, she shouts at us for not giving her enough attention!! And she wishes she was un-well again 🙂
    Get well soon!

  11. suranga says:

Even taking into account your gastronomic history from Bharuch,Baroda, and Palasia places in Indore, I was just thinking, if your stomach ever blogged, it would be one very angry blog. Total atyachaar .

Please. Dont open the fridge. It doesnt matter who wins the world cup T20. And when you feel like eating, just go run up and down the stairs. then you can run faster when someone gets out and they shout on TV.

    Just think . 🙂

    • hitchwriter says:

I do think… sometimes though i get amnesia… and need shocks !! just got there…

what to do but… these cricket tournaments keep on coming one after the other… and I feel I betrayed my players if i dont watch… and invariably you end up eating a bit !!!! well a bit too much… i have to stuff the fridge with squashes and juices !!!

  12. Ashwathy says:

Jesus! half-way thru the post i was going to ask u if u didn’t get king-size acidity along the way…. when u answered that question urself towards the end 😀

well as long as u have a sympathetic and supportive family, falling sick will be a pleasant experience. but dont try it too often tho! the results may backfire! 😛

  13. amit says:

Yes, it is the best time to relax! I agree. The pampering is awesome and you become the center of everyone’s existence. Are you sure no one from your family will read this? 😛
    Get well soon! 🙂

  14. monikamanchanda says:

awww hitchy hugs…. hope u feeling better now

but tell me what u were thinking while u were eating all of that 😛

BTW I make yummy pav bhaji too

  15. Indyeah says:

though knowing you I am sure you are back to fighting fit! 😀
