of fantasies and lustful desires ! Sigh…

Tell me, whenever you travel what is it you look forward to ???

Scenery ? People ? Travel ? Resorts ? Hotels ? Solitude ? Rejuvenation ?

Well, whilst I prefer to go to places where there are few humans. One of the things I love about visiting cities is the foods I can devour. Whenever I am travelling to places like Delhi or Mumbai almost a week before my mind cant help but keep on fantasizing and dreaming about utmostly delicious food I would be diving into soon !!!!! Sigh… I just think of hogging and it hogs my mind ! 😀 😀 😛 😛 😛

As Mumbai now beckons… sigh… here are a few things on my mind ! Some things I lust for ! 😛 😛 😈

Do you love Sev Puri ?

Especially the ones served in Mumbai on roadside with that Khajoor Chutney ! Yummilicious na ? and now that the raw mango season is here they should be most awesomely tangy !!! The Bhaiya’s in UP never made sev poori and bhel poori as delicious as they make it in Mumbai ! Wonder what gets into them once they are in Mumbai !! I am a total fan…

And have you tried the road side sandwich in Mumbai… almost anywhere you go they just make it most simply beautifully 🙂 They are very simple and stuffed to the hilt with veggies not veggies actually its pure freshness packed in between the two loaves of bread ! SIGH !  I guess the Mumbai bread is simply superb ! Yes its white bread… but what the hell 😀

Have you savoured the Biryani at Lucky in Bandra ?? ! You haven’t !!! 😛 😛 Gee… I haven’t either  but this time… recommended by Zinggy Mum I will devour it and promise not to Burp !!! This picture has just whetted my appetite ! 😀

tell me does this picture tantalize you as it does me ? Sigh… 😛 😛 😛 😛

you just drooled all over your key board... rush... clean it !!!!!!

The Shetty’s have been utmost kind to Mumbai… they serve South Indian food better than even in south India !!! The Rava Onion Sada dosa is never made as wonderfully as made in Mumbai ! Trust me ! and the Mysore Masala Dosa they make on Road side stalls !!!!!!! utter bliss !!! Geez… so many things to eat and just one Stomach !!!!! bahut Na-insaafi hai !!!! :(((

And the irrepresible Paav Bhaji at Juhu ?? As a kid when I lived in Andheri and we would rush to Juhu beach every weekend and devour the Butter Paav Bhaji at Juhu ! If you haven’t eaten Paav Bhaaji at Juhu you have seriously missed out on something !!!!!! The poor man’s meal was never as glorified as at Juhu infact no poor man can afford this at Juhu !!!!!! 😛

And then how can you leave Juhu beach without its most special and tangy Kala Khatta Gola !!!!  not to forget the pinch of masala and lemon to be sprinkled on it 😀 😛 😛 😛 😛

Slurpppppppp !

And then… I know that much is enough… but no trip to Mumbai would be complete if you do not have Mumbai’s National food would it ??

The irrepressible Vada Paav ! Sigh…. no descriptions for it… just pure Drool 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛

The wait just got terribly irresistable !!!!  😛 😛 😛 😛

LOL!!! I do this kind of fantasising when I am about to visit my Mom or when she is expected to visit us. In fact she is here rightn ow & leaving next week. So last week I called her up reminding her of the things that she is yet to cook for me. So, I have a list of dishes in front me of me and I keep unchecking them 😉

Aren’t these the signs of true foodies 😀

Lovely post and pictures. My favorite is the veggie sandwich we ate many times at Fashion Street opposite Bombay Gymkhana.
And while traveling I look forward to watching how people live their everyday lives – what they eat, drink, how they talk, how they travel, how they shop, sell, dress, laugh… those little everyday things.

This is so unfair 😀 I gave up my job offer at Mumbai!! Had I known of these yummy yummy delicacies, I’d have given it more thought! 😀 You made me crave for all of these, especially the vada pav and sev puriii… sigh, and am on a diet! How unfair!!! 😀 😀

You hog well there!!! For those of us who can’t make it there, have our share too 🙂

A truly yummmmmy post from a devout foodie! I am drooling here seeing all the snaps and reading your detailed post. Been ages since I have been to BOM, but believe me this post will be a sure shot reference point whenever I do plan a trip there 🙂

So how was your trip BTW? Did you get to hog on all the above delicious food?
