bewakufo… baaki chodo… mazaa looto !

I am an ardent fan of cinema and when I love movies… I love watching them over and over again.

.

While I dont like completely illogical and impractical movies that question my intelligence… I dont always go to movies for just logics … its a wonderful world in the 3 hours of the cinema hall… I get totally involved and can mostly feel the stories… yes… I m a sucker if you might call me one… !

.

So when Soha Ali Khan in Rang De Basanti says Maar dalo use.. (defence minister)” I am with her and I get goose flesh as I get ready to pull the trigger,

when in Swades Geeta tells the NRI SRK, “Atleast I am trying to make this a better place… !” I echo her sentiments completely and feel the pride of being here !!

When Thakur in Sholay snarls at Gabbar and says, ” Gabbar, yeh haath nahi … faansi ka phanda hai… !”  I am totally compelled to believe so… !

.

My family and my friends now all at times ridicule me and at every emotional scene turn to see me weep away… and I really couldnt care less… I have over come the awkwardness I used to feel earlier… I get choked with emotions when I try to sing Yeh jo desh hai tera… or Meri Maa Mumma song from Dusvidaniya or Maula mere le le meri jaan from Chak De ! Tears simply roll out at every slightest display of emotion whether its by a bearded SRK in Chak de or a fat Vinay Pathak in Dusvidaniya or Hritik in Lakshya when the confused young man points towards peak 5179 and fails to utter even a single word but just huffs and puffs emotions everywhere… I just cant help it…

.

Two days in a row I saw 3 idiots and am still not content… I simply loved the movie… and nope, sorry boss but I cant bother to delve in the silly fault finding critics do… I simply loved it way too much to go into that… ! A guy is telling a story and has to use certain make believe elements, its cinema not a science experiment is it ?? Although he uses the same cliched jokes and techniques we all have used all our lives seeing it on screen being spoken at the most apt of times gives an amazing feeling of familiarity… its the connect the story teller establises with his audience… more so with me… !!! Watching the college and hostel days come alive this sucker for nostalgia absolutely adored the movie and so many memories just flashed by I cannot tell you !!!!

.

This is cinema at its emotional and hilarious best !!!! If you havent seen this movie 3 idiots you must right away… this guy Hirani makes some really good movies and this is one you dont want to miss… !!!

.

Here is the best song of the movie in my view… what a tune and what wordings…. remembering the old college days and the old friends for whom we used to feel so wonderfully … just listen to this…

You must see the movie… 3 idiots its beautiful and fun ! 😀 😀

Regardsing Avatar, I m kinda bored of that sort ! I kinda loathe sci-fiction films and this jumping dinosaur sorta movies now… !

      • Nancy says:

Oh I knw which scene u r talking abt….there is this scene in Kabhie Haan Kabhie Naa where Shah rukh tells the truth at a party, his father abuses him and there’s a song. I dont really fancy SRK but this scene always touches me :-(.
Actually I want to watch Avatar for the special effects. U see once upon a time I used to be a Multimedia trainer….so just like to keep track of the animation scene 😀

        • hitchwriter says:

there are many like those… I dont fancy SRK either… but all his scenes in Swades and Chak De make me all weepy !

So May you enjoy Avatar !! I have no connections with multi media !!! and I prefer animations any day !

          • Crafty Shines says:

I WANT A WEDDING LIKE THIS!!!!!

forget relatives!!! i’d rather have tigers and wild goats…..as long as some guests don’t devour other guests!!

            🙄

i loved Haathi mere Saathi too…. and yes… i cried too!!! and then i cried some more coz i wanted a pet elephant…. then my mom was close to crying coz i was giving her a headache! 😛

            • hitchwriter says:

lol… ! when young we visited a park in mysore where they let you hold tiger cubs in your hands and I wanted to steal one and bring home… lol… Mom & Dad were like enough enthusiasm boy ! but thats just way to far… !!!!

            • sakshi says:

Blimey Crafty 😯 ..in that case I will come to your wedding locked inside a cage and your jungle friends can throw the wedding feast at me while I jump around trying to gobble down payasam and punjabi chole together

super post about a super movie
i missed the first 10 minutes , thanx to Mumbai traffic
I know I have to watch it again
but a must see for all
and I just loved the 44 year old Aamir in 22 old get up
and he did a good job
from start to end there is just one word wowwwwwwwwwwwwww

    • hitchwriter says:

your in mumbai ????? i thought you were in amreeka !!!!!

I for one never thought of the age angle… i was more lost in old college days… the confusions, the ragging, the hostel, the expectations, the quanderies !!!

The movie totally told me to do your thing sort !! 😛

  3. Vimmuuu says:

Oh ya Hitchy !!! I get too involved with the characters when I watch a movie ! and Ohhh I cry like a kid watching a movie; I still cry when I watch the dad dying scene in The Lion King ! 😀 😀 😀 😀

As for 3 idiots, its a feel good movie. But I didnt like quite a few scenes (the delivery sequence) and the reason behind aamirs disappearance is not convincing enough ! I mean, if he treated them as real good friends, he wouldnt just away from his friends for 10 loong years. and for 10 looong years, they couldnt find his whereabouts in Shimla or what ? Anyway, like you mentioned, a movie should be treated as movie ! 😀 😀

  4. Drsupriya says:

Hey.. Liked da way u hav penned things here.. Me too a movie buff.. Love da song ma meri ma mumma..me too get sumtimes get into da scene n cry.. But not always..cant wait to see 3i after readin ur post n da way u hav described it..

  6. Solilo says:

If our plans go well then we will catch the movie this weekend. From what I listened, I didn’t like the songs but then Raju Hirani prefers popular songs to quality. I love the simplicity of his movies.

    • hitchwriter says:

      two songs…

      Behti hawa sa tha woh…
      and
saari umra hum mar mar ke jee liye…

listen to them again properly best is once you see the movie… you will like them a lot more…

i absolutely loved these two songs !

  7. Ashwathy says:

    as i told u ystrday…
i loved the movie…. but felt it had its share of flaws too. but yes an enjoyable watch. and i shud say, a must watch for pushy parents and meek kids.

  8. oorja says:

i totally agree with you… i too watch movies for the Mazaa (and mazaa does not necessarily mean happy fun.. it is the ‘Nav-Ras’ in it) only.. that is why i can watch almost any kind of movie…… 😀

    haven’t seen 3 idiots yet..

    • hitchwriter says:

absolutely a must watch !!! and I kinda am ready to do a bit of believing for good movies and good movie makers… ! it cant always be real and logical !!! or else it would be boring !!! 😛 😛 😛

you will love this movie… take my word !!! 😀 😀

  9. masood says:

I saw it on Friday, the day it was released and loooooved it.

we took ibrahim with us assuming he’s gonna be cranky and I’d have to keep rushing out of the hall every few minutes to keep him entertained…

but the little one slept right thru the movie..for the entire 3 hrs!!!!!! Can you believe it? And this was his first time in a movie hall.

And I could watch the movie without a break.

what you said is so true for me as well….I get totally involved in the movie…i love watching it for the experience…feel for each character and enjoy it rather than to break it into bit and pieces like a critic…ofcourse that holds true only for good movies!

  10. masood says:

My favorite comic scene of the movie was the examination papers part….

Even when i think of that scene now, I start giggling!!!!

Though I do think the delivery scene could have been avoided….it was the only misfit in an otherwise fabulous movie!!!

    • hitchwriter says:

i guess the delivery scene and karina’s wedding scene are teh two melodramatic episodes.. but well… we have seen much worse before… !!!

plus i thought it wasnt overboard… ! most improtantly.. !!!11

the best scene i still think was Silencer delivering the speech !!!!!! the only bad thing is my son is suddenly using the word Balatkar !!!!!! 😳

i hope he forgets it soon !!!!!

I thought it was an awesome movie… we go to movies to have fun and tht I had aplenty watching this movie !!!!! 😀 😀 😀 D

          • sakshi says:

Hi5 Hitchy Partner…me too loved the killing speech of silencer and the whole set of desi umreekans who accompanied us for the movie thought I was just discharged from a mental asylum after hearing me howling at his speech 😆 That guy Omi did an excellent job throughout the movie and his South Indian Hindi accent kinda backfired on me as I was the only south indian in our group 😳 Hmmmpf!!!! They teased that I had a soft corner for Omi’s acting skills just bcoz he portrayed a southie….bahhhh. I said in that case what the hell am I doing married to a north indian jawaan? 😛

  11. homecooked says:

  16. Sakshi says:

Just bcoz of your post I dragged everyone to a theatre 40 miles from here to watch the movie and thank god everyone found it worth the trouble on a snowy evening or I would have been buried alive under 20 inches of snow  It’s a paisa vasool movie and I was surprised to see Aamir 😯 I had watched Ghajini three days back and was thinking Aamir was looking so old and in this movie he was all hip hop and young 🙂

    • hitchwriter says:

      😀 😀 😀 😀

I aint saying its the best movie ever made… but any one that enjoys a good laugh must see it… !!!!! entertaining and total paisa vasoool !!!! 😀 😀 😀

  17. Rakesh says:

Dhiren, finally watched the movie yesterday. Great movie but not the movie of the decade as people are calling it.

But listen, how to go to Laddakh? Man, I so wanna go there. Those planes.

    • hitchwriter says:

come down to india this june and we all drive away !! simple… didnt you see the pics i put for tara’s birthday !!!1

wait i ll share pics of my friends ladakh trip in picasa… !! just see them !

      • Rakesh says:

        Dhiren,

Sure If you plan this road trip, I promise I will come. I can confirm from now itself. Let’s plan. I can come for 7 to 10 days and we can do an awesome trip / trek whatever u plan.

        • hitchwriter says:

I m sure you can promise… ! but thing is I m shifting in april and new job et all so I myself m unsure… !!! I m more hopeful at the moment than sure ! and thats why i m not reliable… but you must do the circuit or something… when ever you come just let me know about a month in advance.. and then we see what can be done !!! 😀 😀

  18. mou says:

have been planning to watch 3 idiots, every time due to some ‘unavoidable circumstances’ had to postpone the plans…now it seems, am the only one who hasn’t watched it till now :o…

  19. shilpadesh says:

Total paisa vasool. I am so happy that such a nice, heart-felt movie is being lauded by everyone. And like you said, Aamir does complete justice to his part. For me, the star was Sharman. That guy is something!

  20. Indyeah says:

still havent seen the movie 😦 😦
*you are not going to disown me as your sis are you? * I mean such a movie crazy bro and here sis cant even see one good movie he has recommended! 😀

  21. umsreflections says:

Just want to see this 3i movie, after reading a lot abt it !!!!

Hitch, you’ve company – I too get emotional watching that song in Chak de and got into the same emotion like Soha in RDB – it happens to me naturally and everyone at home teases me to great lenghts abt it. My Dad too is like that – he cries at each and every scene of the movie even after watching it a dozen times !!!!
