dark clouds brew up…
a bolt of lightening but he doesnt budge…
the wind picks up…
blowing dust, leaves, his shirt and his hair…
a tempest in the making…
threatening to destroy one and all…
he should be reaching for cover…
but he walks on…
in the moment of panic…
a strange, really strange…
calm he has discovered…
inexplicable really…
but there is this quite hope…
this new belief…
and it lingers in his mind…
he walks on as the rain starts pourin…
he lifts up his head, ready for the challenge…
smiling in the fury of the rain…
new avenues to be conquered…
so will he….
Amen !

awesome dhiren… very well written
amen!!!
glad you liked it Monika ! 😀
Battling the fury
of a maddening wind
and
khunnas wala rain
he feels
rivulets of water
descend within
trying to find dry spots themselves.
Drenched,
he stops,
drunk on visions
of pakodas,
masala cheese,
and pudina chai;
shrugs away
the sweat mixed rain,
and slowly extracts the phone
from his
deep drenched pockets…
Taps it,
lifts it to his dripping ears,
takes a deep breath,
starting a torrent of tears….
….
“Black ka Berry, tu bhi chhod diya mujhe ?”….
it too,
is shedding tears
wow
i can never do this
suranga specially loved the last lines
Black ka Berry, tu bhi chhod diya mujhe ?”….
it too,
is shedding tears
he he black ka berry
that was superb!!! lol!!!
Suranga ji you are the mother of all poems. My Salute to you 😛
The sheer spontaneity of your poetry is amazing Suranga !!!! 😀 😀 😀 Awesome !!!
You know, I loved what you originally wrote, but everytime I hear about someone going all dramatic walking in rain storms, running to top of mountains, hands raised etc, I worry about expensive watches getting wet, highend phones malfunctioning, the person catching a cold and falling sick (must be a Mumbai thing), and agonize about how these days folks dont care 🙂 ….
There isnt anything that a nice quiet sensible talk with a loved one wont solve. Must be my age catching up
P. S. next time umbrella leke jao. 🙂
Haha you are amazing Suranga!
Sigh… I dont own a expensive watch or a expensive phone… 🙂 🙂 I am a total small Bharuch town guy 🙂 🙂
brilliant dhiren!!!
Excellent dhiren
Awesome, Hitchy!!! Really well written. I’m sure he will conquer….
I dont understand poetry, but I am supposed to say ‘excellent’, rt? 😀 😀 😀 😀
you bet… !
Excellent!
The image you give suits a VAMPIRE out to get his victim 😦
But WTH Hitchy has transformed into HitchyDas and that calls for a celebration
Ps: Saw the last two posts and intentionally didn’t think to put my nonsensical 3 cents on a Bat Ball post
did you just see them or read them ?
lol..With you on that..only for me not nonsensical but ignorance.. 😐
Amen indeed..
Its lovely…beautiful words….so wonderfully expressed…. 🙂 🙂
Suranga, another new perspective to the rainy day….I like that one too….How do u do it so well, everytime….you amaze me with your words. 🙂 🙂
BTW, Hitch, that Header pic is awesome….Where is this ?????
Must be old age. When you can no longer do all this stuff of wandering and running angrily, bravely and wildly in torrential rains, you stay at home with a cup of tea and make poems 🙂
Thats a frndly way to approach old age na….but I like the spirit. 🙂
Wow….nice one Hitchy! Amen 🙂
This is my first time @ your blog. Have spent already close to an hour on your blog.
What can I say, I’m swept away….. luv ur work.
Insightful / Intriguing / Innovative / Humorous / Poignant ….. is how I would describe.
In the Indian-Blog-O-sphere you are a rare price find.
You know what I am going to keep coming back here now.
Long ago, I wanted to write on a similar situation. There is no way I could. Not in this life time. But I can appreciate your lines better than most.
wow!!! 🙂
Woww Hitchu 🙂
Luv the tag 😀
